In 2020, Lendlease launched Mission Zero which states the organisation's new targets of reaching Net Zero Carbon by 2025 and Absolute Zero by 2040.

These are the most ambitious targets the industry has seen and the creation of "You Won't Believe It's Trash (Y.W.B.I.T)" campaign across Lendlease malls since 2022 is one of the milestones to achieve the target. 

 At the end of 2025, we achieved our first Mission Zero milestone target. Lendlease is Net Zero for Scope 1 & 2 emissions for activities within our operational control. We are now turning our focus to our Absolute Zero by 2040 target.

In 2026, Lendlease malls upgraded its signature sustainability initiative “You Won’t Believe It’s Trash (Y.W.B.I.T)” into a year-round movement — “A New Lease of Life”, in recognition of how small, everyday actions can contribute to long-term sustainability efforts.
