The WELL Building Standard

The Building That Cares

  • Indoor Air Quality & Ventilation Image

    Indoor Air Quality & Ventilation

Healthy offices have low concentrations of CO2, VOCs and other pollutants; they also have high ventilation rates. PLQ has CO2 monitors and MERV14 filters keeping PM2.5 levels low all year round. The paint, adhesives and furniture in the base building all contain low VOCs. Additionally, building materials are green-certified products.

    WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Cognitive scores of those who work in green, well-ventilated office with good indoor air quality will increase.

  • Thermal Comfort Image

    Thermal Comfort

Healthy office buildings have a comfortable temperature range. PLQ utilises high-performance building façade systems in addition to other mechanical and electrical engineering practices to keep occupants’ thermal comfort at optimal levels. Temperatures range from 23 to 25°C, with relative humidity below 65%. This provides building occupants with daylight while maintaining a thermal-comfortable workspace.

    WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Thermal comfort can boost staff performance.

  • Noise & Acoustics Image

    Noise & Acoustics

Healthy office buildings use materials that reduce noise and provide quiet spaces to work. To manage external noise and internal acoustics, PLQ has installed engineered façade systems and internal walls that meet international standards.

    WHY DOES IT MATTER?

The reduction of surrounding distracting noises plays a part in improving staff performance.

  • Biophilia & Views Image

    Biophilia & Views

Healthy office buildings have a wide variety of plant spaces inside and out, as well as views of nature from workspaces. With greenery covering more than six times the site area, PLQ provides its office occupants with a lush environment; full glass façade windows provide a full view of the great outdoors.

    WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Longer attention spans, as well as quicker recovery time when occupants are taking breaks can be observed.

  • Access to Amenities Image

    Access to Amenities

Healthy office buildings provide access to public transport, safe bike routes, over 300 bicycle parking lots, end-of-trip facilities and a wide range of healthy food choices. Outdoor seating is also available at the Plaza for those who wish to dine in a natural cool ventilated environment.

    WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Active lifestyles can play a part in improving well-being, hence reducing absenteeism. Convenience at the PLQ offices’ doorstep also allows more time for work-life balance.

  • Daylighting & Lighting Image

    Daylighting & Lighting

Healthy office buildings have generous access to daylight and smart electrical lighting. PLQ provides full glass ceiling-to-floor façades. This provides building occupants with natural lighting while ensuring optimal comfort.

    WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Such optimised lighting systems have a positive impact on occupants’ circadian rhythm, improving their sleep quality, resulting in better alertness in the day.
